Growing up my Christmas presents usually consisted of arts and crafts that required creativity with the use of my hands. I didn't realize it then, but I had already known what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to be an Artist.

 

I graduated high school having no clue where I wanted to go from there . At that age I assumed that I was supposed to pick a major and attend college. I had so many choices, but early on I had figured out that I had no passion for business or what they were teaching. Then, someone mentioned beauty school and that I should try it. So I decided to attend Capri Institute and never looked back. 

 

It wasn’t until I stood behind the chair that I came to realize I had so much more than just a passion for being creative. Each person had a different story, different head of hair to work with and a new challenge each day. The first day when a client stood up from my chair with a huge smile on her face feeling better than when she walked in, I realized that was the greatest feeling in the world! That moment motivated me to aim to bring out that happiness in every client that sits in my chair.

 

I believe the consultation is one of the most important parts of the hair service. That is the time in which I get to have a conversation with my client about her/his wants and needs. We can then decide a plan to achieve that person's hair goals. It is hard to give someone the right hair color and style when we all see things differently, which is why I take great care in communicating with my client during the consultation and throughout the service .

 

I have continued my education since attending Capri through various color and cut classes. I have attended the KMS Academy in Santa Monica as well as the Goldwell Academy in NYC. It was in these places that I was able to advance my education and skills so that I am always able to provide the most up to date trends and innovative techniques for my clients. Education is very important to me as I aim to constantly grow in this industry. If there is one thing I've learned is that there is ALWAYS something new to learn!
